Dear Year Two Parents
This week in Numeracy we have been working on data handling and graphs.
This week in Literacy we have been learning about writing stories.
This week in our Creative Curriculum we have been discussing holidays.
Focus for the week – Try writing out sentences using your spelling words. See if you can make them WOW sentences.
Website of the week http://www.amblesideprimary.com/ambleweb/mentalmaths/pyramid.html - this will be good practice for next weeks maths.
Another great week has passed in Year 2. Everyone now seems to have settled back into the school routine and everyone seems to be trying really hard with both school work and homework. Well done to those children who did well in their spellings this week. Keep up the fantastic work!
A general note to parents about drop off and pick up routines.
1. Drop off at 7.30 at the outside sliding doors. It is extremely important for the children to be on time as we start lessons at 7.40 so they only have 10 minutes to unpack, be registered and get to their first lesson. We encourage children to be independent in unpacking their bags.
2. Pick up at 2.15 and 1.15 on Thursdays from the outside sliding doors. Again please ensure you are on time for pick up. Not only is it upsetting for children if parents are late but teachers have meetings after school most days which they need to get too and prepare for.
3. Club pick up time is 3.15 for most after school activities. Please ensure you are there on time as again it is upsetting for children if you are late.
Thank you for your support with this. Mrs MacDougall, Head of Year 2
