Shutter 10
GEMS are holding the Young Photographer of the Year competition which is open to every child in JPS whether you’re 11 years old or 3! If you would like an opportunity to win an amazing camera of your own keep reading!
If you would like to enter the under 12 category of the Gems Young Photographer of the Year competition grab a camera between now and the 31st January and start taking pictures! Every picture submitted should show or represent an element of the GEMS Core Value ‘World Citizenship’. Have a read below to refresh your knowledge of this very important Core Value.
World Citizenship
Empowering Students with a Global and Local Perspective
Students in GEMS managed schools learn about the world and the people in it from an early age, developing an awareness of different cultures and countries. By exploring the world, they become more socially, culturally, economically and environmentally aware, which better prepares them to adopt a global perspective and make a difference in the global community.
If you think you can take a picture which celebrates World Citizenship or illustrates any issues involving one of the four underlined areas above talk to your mum and dad about borrowing their camera and get snapping.
You can take as many pictures as you like between now and the 31st of January, and your pictures can be taken anywhere in the world but you will only be allowed one entry. Therefore look at all your pictures carefully and choose the best one to send to Mr. Bensusan by the 31st of January.
One picture will be chosen as the JPS winning photograph and will be submitted to the GEMS wide competition as the JPS entry. This picture will then compete against all other winning photographs across every GEMS school. The overall winner will win an amazing Nikon D90 digital SLR camera and will have their picture printed on canvas!
Here are some rules to consider and follow when submitting your pictures.
